THE REAL TRUTH
The songs on this album were born from the most consequential five years of my life. From the time I started treating myself as worthy of love to the present moment I have changed immensely. These songs are a document of that change. It is also a document of my love affair with recording/producing/mixing! Teaching myself the craft of engineering was a very mindful effort but, the actual writing was more of a necessity. I had to work through difficult times and since I'm a songwriter I did that with songs. Many of these tunes came from desperate afternoons spent alone with a guitar/piano, I only found the desire to release them when this incredible band gave them new life. The fact that this record exists in its current form is due to the love and support of these friends and collaborators:

A note on the title: "The Real Truth" is lifted from a line in "Farewell Transmission" by Songs: Ohia. It is a resonant phrase that takes on different meanings across the album. I prefer the meaning of the first track: the truth is that all things fade and change, the REAL truth is that I choose to entrust myself to this change and to live with my heart open!
