To meet someone after your relationship has fractured is to be reintroduced to someone you can’t be certain you know anymore. I wrote this song to release some of the things I wish I had said, to reflect on what went wrong, and to share my sincere hope that they are living better lives than the ones we lived together. It is a song of acknowledging change, yet the progression that drives the song only changes dynamically, representing the fact that the same lifeforce is pushing us along, even though its tone changes. I am learning to trust this flow of life.
